Transformation

Longing for a miracle that will transform your life? Miracles happen, and if we don't want that magic to disappear on us, we need to learn from each epiphany -- to integrate it, apply it, and build on it so we can permanently shift to a new level of being.

The real key to fulfillment lies in ONGOING transformation: building our awareness of daily opportunities to change our perceptions and raise our consciousness. Life is about dissolving the old and creating anew. The more we open to accepting and learning from every life experience, the more our lives transform.

"Enlightenment must come little by little -- otherwise it would overwhelm."

Self Deception

Self-deception

"The first and worst of all frauds is to cheat one's self."

-- Phillip James Bailey

Are you hiding in some way from your own inner light?

I wouldn't dream of stealing things but I do steal from my own potential. I can be a master at rationalizing, at justifying why its not the right time to do something challenging. My arguments seem valid but deep down, I know they're excuses.

"The longer the excuse, the less likely it's the truth."

-- Robert Half

"When we know deep down that we're acting with integrity despite impulses to do otherwise, we feel gates of higher energy and inspiration open inside of us."

Stress - How To Cope, How to Handle It

One of the most significant problems human beings face as a general population is how to handle stress. It largely depends in the way you learn how to handle stress. Learn how to handle stress by turning it into a positive force that can uplift and empower you. Want more tips on how to handle stress. Before you can learn how to handle stress you need to identify the source of your related stress. Life has its ups and downs and when the downs come, it is so important to know how to handle stress effectively so you can deal with the events without entering into a harrowing episode of stress, anxiety or depression. Knowing how to handle stress effectively means being continually aware that there is always a solution. By learning how to handle stressful feelings, by creating time our in our lives where we can recharge our batteries, and by learning how to relate to ourselves in a different way, we come to a state of being where the things that used to bother us, no longer do.

Yourself
Discover what you need to feel good about yourself and get your needs met. DON'T OVERWHELM YOURSELF: If you are stressed and overwhelmed, perhaps you are trying to handle too much. Rid yourself of extra duties that aren't necessary or important. EXTEND YOURSELF: Make your own life better by making someone else's life better (unless someone else‘s life is the problem of the stress) . If you can't change the world, change yourself. Learn how to love yourself as you are, while you work towards your goals. Then, make a commitment to yourself to start improving the things about yourself and your life that (you believe) need it. Focus on the good things about yourself, and in your life. Take a few deep breaths, breathing from the stomach and chest, and gradually feel yourself becoming more relaxed. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, get involved and become a participant.

How much stress do you cause just by putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. Having a positive attitude will help you assert yourself and feel more in control. You waste energy if you constantly criticize yourself or set unrealistic goals. Being able to laugh at yourself and the world can break tension and give you some relief from stress.

Enjoy having nothing to think about other than your breath and if you find your mind wandering just bring yourself back to your breathing. Take a break and take yourself away from the stressful situation. Sometimes it can be difficult to see the bigger picture, but if you take yourself away and give yourself a short-break you will come back to the situation feeling refreshed and ready to face the challenge. Talking releases stress; sometimes other people can offer solutions you didn't think of yourself. When you are stressed, remember to give yourself "treats".

Body
If you learn about how your body reacts to stress, you can also learn how to counter that stress. Learn to listen to your body's signals and find ways to reduce your stress, even if it's just "taking five" to clear your mind. This can actually create the a reaction in the body that results in a good feeling and the some stress relief. It also increases the amount of oxygen in your body and boosts your blood circulation. The body responds to stress by going through three stages: (1) alarm, (2) resistance, and (3) exhaustion.

What Is Soul Consciousness

What is soul consciousness?

"You are a holistic being with both nondualistic energy and the energy of the physical plane as a part of your being at your disposal."

-- Wayne Dyer

Andrew Schneider helps us understand our human experience of being soul. He says, "Soul consciousness arises when we stand facing in opposite directions at the same time - toward eternity and toward time, toward infinity and toward space, toward unity and toward complexity. We stand in that dualism without being dualistic, for in consciousness we can accommodate the opposites. We do this by identifying with both. This identification results in the experience of being an individual while at the same time being the whole, and finding no contradiction in this experience."

"Give your difference, welcome my difference, unify all difference in the larger whole -- such is the law of growth. The unifying of difference is the eternal process of life -- the creative synthesis, the highest act of creation."

-- M. P. Follett

Forgiveness and Anger and Regaining Control

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a hard topic for me to discuss because I myself have a very hard time forgiving others who have wronged the ones I love and myself since I tend to take things so personally. I’m sure many out there have the same problem so I have gathered up some inspirational sayings about forgiveness and anger, etc. I hope you find this beneficial.

Forgiveness is part of carrying your cross. Forgiveness is letting go of the negative emotions that keep our energy and our thoughts tethered to the past, and keep us from progressing forward. Forgiveness, mercy, and not judging are all related. Forgiveness is the right choice to make, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve forgotten what has happened. forgiveness isn’t a statement "I forgive" but to really not let the matter bother you anymore. Forgiveness may feel like letting our offender off the hook without punishment. Forgiveness is love practiced among people who love poorly. Forgiveness is typically defined as the process of concluding resentment, indignation or anger as a result of a perceived offense, difference or mistake, and/or ceasing to demand punishment or restitution. Forgiveness removes the blocks to seeing the eternal goodness in, and unity and equality with, one’s brother. Forgiveness removes the fog obscuring the reflection of God within others, which leads to the same sight within ourselves. Forgiveness is simply a decision to let go of our regrets and our own view of justice.

Anger

Anger and forgiveness seem opposite, and yet in many ways they are very similar. Anger becomes a part of how others view you. Anger can make you yell or scream at those around you, even people you like or love. Anger and resentment take you away from love. Anger is one of the most common and destructive delusions, and it afflicts our mind almost every day. Anger is "an emotional state that varies in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage," according to Charles Spielberger, PhD, a psychologist who specializes in the study of anger. Anger is a natural, adaptive response to threats; it inspires powerful, often aggressive, feelings and behaviors, which allow us to fight and to defend ourselves when we are attacked. Anger is a serious emotion, but it's often accompanied by ideas that, if examined, can make you laugh. Anger is a temporary emotional state caused by frustration; aggression is often an attempt to hurt a person or to destroy property. Anger can be a vicious cycle and spiral out of control despite the fact that you truly do not want to be angry. Anger can be a tool to motivate us to change our circumstances if we’re not happy with them. In my experience anger tends to manifest only because of the fear of being injured or hurt once again. Forgiveness is a Grace given to remove animosity and anger from our souls so as not to let those poisons spread and muddle our relationship with God.

No Need For Comparison

No need for comparison

"Nothing is good or bad but by comparison."

-- Thomas Fuller

We are each unique, so comparing ourselves to others serves no purpose. Even comparing myself to how I was a while back is not usually helpful. Typically, comparison just brings the ego a false sense of either superiority or inferiority.

If we let go of comparison and choose instead to completely accept where we are, we can enjoy both peace and growth.

"Do not judge and you will never be mistaken."

Have Hope When In Trouble and Faith

This article is dedicated to two very special friends (you know who you are and I hope you read it) who always seem to have such terrible things happening in their lives which I have no reason why but I do believe it makes you stronger to handle anything that comes your way. This is also for some family members who could use this as a motivator.

How to have hope no matter what life throws at you. How to have hope and faith and to feel love for yourself and others. How to have hope when everything looks hopeless. How to have hope in the midst of despair. How to have hope in turbulent times. how to have hope or what can i keep telling myself to stay positive that life and thing willl get better and I will be happy. How to have Hope in troubled times and to be steadfast in our Faith.

Hope

Hope is alive when you have faith in a plan for your life, seeing possibilities for change while making progress: success. Hope makes us hold on when we could let go. Hope may be the most underrated of all emotions. Hope combined with realism is a winner. Hope and faith keep me grounded in the present and excited about the future. Hope, dreams, goals, and effort are all essential.

Hope, don't lose it and don't allow anybody to take it away from you. Hope is what saved me and kept me alive. Hope arises in our hearts as we intentionally remember God’s character and promises. Hope, like faith, is the belief in something not seen. Hope a powerful word and life sustainer.

Hope the very word caresses us and starts a feeling of hope in us even just as we repeat it to ourselves. Hope is a positive emotion, often confused with wishes and dreams, but they aren't the same things. Hope, I believe is a highly effective motivational tool to be wielded by the mind that does not confuse hope with blind faith; in the individual possessing a well prepared mind, hope is a sharpening of the senses to further their faith.

Hope springs from faith like a plant from a seed, like a stream from a source. First stop long enough to realize you probably already possess a seed of hope -- even if you don't realize it. As you can make progress, then you'll have even more hope and your own kind of success. Ask yourself, "Are hope and possibilities through faith related things. Think about the ones that seem hopeful about their future, expectations, dreams, and faith in the way things can be. You can be hopeful about your day. Turn up the happy music and sing a hopeful song. People can make you hope and feel better with the right music.

Faith

Ask yourself, "Are hope and possibilities through faith related things. If you answered "Yes," then focus on your possibilities to improve and faith to believe. That may help you understand how to use your faith and see possibilities. Believe that it can if you have faith guiding your path to work for progress toward real short term and longer term goals. "Consider and know that many things are possible if you can remember to believe and go make something happen through your faith and passion for life.

Faith, a gift from God, is one of the most powerful forces governing our universe, just as the unseen power of gravity works to pull all things down, the unseen power of faith works to lifts all things up. If you can't have faith in what is held up to you for faith, you must find things to believe in yourself, for a life without faith in something is too narrow a space to live. As our faith is tested through our trials and temptations it helps to have some guidance and support in overcoming them. If you are a religious person, pray and keep faith.

Believe

Believe that it can if you have faith guiding your path to work for progress toward real short term and longer term goals. Believe that you can meet and overcome obstacles in your life. I truly believe that energy flows where attention goes, and that’s what motivates the action that leads to outcomes. You can’t move forward if you don’t believe things will get better, which requires optimism.

Reincarnation and the journey of the soul

Reincarnation: The Past Revisited Belief in reincarnation, the idea that an essential part of a living being can survive death and later be reborn in a new body, is an ancient doctrine that has persisted for thousands of years. Reincarnation is believed to occur when the soul or spirit, after the death of the body, comes back to Earth in a newborn body. Reincarnation is an intrinsic part of many Native American and Inuit traditions. Reincarnation beliefs of North American Indians : soul journeys, metamorphoses, and near-death experiences. Reincarnation research is a branch of parapsychology that seeks to support the existence of reincarnation.

Death

At the death of one personality, a new one comes into being, much as the flame of a dying candle can serve to light the flame of another. Thus consciousness is a continuous birth and death of mind-states: rebirth is the persistence of this process. There can be no form of transmitting conscious memory from one life to another, since it belongs to the world of illusion and dissolves at death. Although it is not clear what actually survives after death in this case, it mentions a mental body that cannot be injured by the visions experienced by the deceased:. The human person has a soul which will live on after physical death. So it must be considered an exception both to the natural process of death, and to the rule of reincarnation. " What happens in death is this: the Thetan (spirit) finds itself without a body (which has died) and then it goes looking for a new body. Channeling, like past life regression, is distinct from reincarnation, even though it is based on the same essential concept: death does not put an end to the entirety of one's being.

People and Other Life Times

We all have destiny and karmic lessons to learn in each life time and if we do not learn them in a present life time we will reincarnate to learn them again and again. Once we learn the lesson we do have a choice of whether or not to reincarnate or to move on to a higher level of consciousness .

The people who are presently in our lives are those that we have been with in past life times and explains why you meet someone or have someone in your life that just rubs you the wrong way but you don’t understand why that is…it’s due to a past life time where this soul has caused you some kind of grief or heartache. It also can be said that those we are very drawn to or feel love feelings for and have the feeling of meeting before but not knowing where, is a connection to a past life time where you possibly were married to the soul .

The bottom line is that we are all here for a reason and one reason only ; to learn and to love and to be the best that we can be to ourselves and to others.

More studies on this subject is to come in the near future.

Money Issues, Worry, Anxiety, Help for Sickness

I have a dear friend who I knew as a little girl who is having so many issues right now that I have decided to do some research on special novena's that can be said for help in the areas of money issues, anxiety and wanting peace, and healing of sickness. I have already given the novena for St. Raphael who is an Archangel of the sick which is listed in an earlier post so I won't repeat that one.

I ask that you remember my friend in your prayers and perhaps you can say one of the novena's for her. If your wanting to say one specifically to help her with her worries then I would say the one for the worry and anxiety novena.

If your going to say the novena for the two men, Andrew & Mark, then use the novena to St. Raphael.

Of course, feel free to say them for yourselves since they are for everyone's use.

May God Bless you all.

Learn ALL about Meditation - What it is, How To Do It

Meditation, hypnosis and biofeedback-induced relaxation are a few of the techniques used with relaxation training. Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. Meditation originally was meant to help deepen understanding of the sacred and mystical forces of life. Meditation has been one of the core spiritual practices undertaken by the Jains since the era of first Tirthankar Lord Rishabha. Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that benefits both your emotional well-being and your overall health. Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day and improve certain medical conditions.

Meditation

Meditation is a simple technique that if practiced for as few as 10 minutes per day can help you control stress, decrease anxiety, improve cardiovascular health, and achieve a greater capacity for relaxation. Meditation is a holistic discipline by which the practitioner attempts to get beyond the reflexive, "thinking" mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness. Meditation is sometimes described as "listening to the silence between thoughts". Meditation has been defined as: "self regulation of attention, in the service of self-inquiry, in the here and now. Meditation can be practiced while walking or doing simple repetitive tasks. Meditation means 'To be free of measurement' " and ". Meditation has also been studied specifically for its effects on stress. Meditation can also help us to understand our own mind. Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that benefits both your emotional well-being and your overall health. When you meditate, you clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress. Meditation and illness Many healthy people use meditation as a way to relax the body and reduce stress. Meditation is a safe and simple way to balance a person's physical, emotional, and mental states. Meditation using mindfulness is the most practical way to meditate. Meditation is usually practiced in a quiet place with as few distractions as possible. Meditation is a three step process that leads to a state of consciousness that brings serenity, clarity, and bliss. Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth.

Breath

We sit with our eyes partially closed and turn our attention to our breathing. We breathe naturally, preferably through the nostrils, without attempting to control our breath, and we try to become aware of the sensation of the breath as it enters and leaves the nostrils. There will be a great temptation to follow the different thoughts as they arise, but we should resist this and remain focused single-pointedly on the sensation of the breath. If we discover that our mind has wandered and is following our thoughts, we should immediately return it to the breath. We should repeat this as many times as necessary until the mind settles on the breath. Even though breathing meditation is only a preliminary stage of meditation, it can be quite powerful. Just by doing breathing meditation for ten or fifteen minutes each day, we will be able to reduce this stress. This study found that many experiences of Pure Consciousness were associated with periods of natural respiratory suspension, and that during these respiratory suspension periods individuals displayed higher mean EEG coherence over all frequencies and brain areas, in contrast to control periods where subjects voluntarily held their breath.

Meditation Tools

There are many ways that you can get the help you need to get you started especially if you are a beginner. Some people can do this strictly by listening to nice soothing music (without words) and you can train your mind, and body to just “drift”.

I highly suggest guided meditation music where the listener is guided into the steps of meditation by voice and music together and helps to get you started. This is how I started out when I first learned how to meditate.

Some can simply focus on one object and let their minds go adrift . There is no right way or wrong way. It just depends on how comfortable you are.

If you choose the guided meditation method; there are many available CD, or MP3, Ipod players that you can download and so I highly recommend that you do a search on this subject.

**Although meditation is an aid to help you feel better it is by no means is a replacement for traditional medical treatment. It’s meant to be added to your treatment.**

Glorious Archangel Saint Raphael,
great prince of the heavenly court,
you are illustrious
for your gifts of wisdom and grace.
You are a guide of those who journey
by land or sea or air,
consoler of the afflicted,
and refuge of sinners.
I beg you,

the young Tobias on his travels.
Because you are the medicine of God,
I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities
of my soul and the ills that afflict my body.
I especially ask of you the favor

(Make your request here...)

and the great grace of purity
to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

St. Raphael,

Angel of health,

Heal or cure the victim of disease.
And guide our steps when doubtful of our ways.

Recognizing Abundance

Recognizing abundance

"If your everyday life seems poor, don't blame it; blame yourself; admit to yourself that you are not enough of a poet to call forth its riches; because for the creator there is no poverty and no indifferent place."

-- Rainer Maria Rilke

Where do you now experience abundance in your life?

If you are hard-pressed to find abundance in your finances or possessions, look to spiritual qualities. Do you experience abundance in a special relationship? In a quiet moment in a park? In a good laugh with a friend? The more you acknowledge abundance in your spirit, the richer your life will become.

"Not what we have but what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance."

Step by step

"The shortest way to do many things is to do only one thing at a time."

-- Sydney Smiles

When I get overwhelmed by the number of tasks on my to-do list, I remind myself that the only way to get anywhere is step by step. And I cover the most distance in the journey of my life when I take a moment to decide which step will bring the greatest rewards.

"Often he who does too much does too little."

With today's fast pace of life, too many of us don't have any sense of how it feels to be free of stress. It's difficult to relax if we have physical pain or irritation, strong negative emotions or scattered, worrisome thoughts.
The practice of meditation helps us find the peace within that is so elusive in our outer world.
"Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths, or the turning inwards in prayer for five short minutes."

What depletes your soul?

"Certain activities, attitudes, foods, and persons support the cultivation of an unconscious life. They draw us away from our center. They throw us off-balance. They deplete the soul."

-- Patricia Lynn Reilly

Some activities we think are restful are, in fact, draining. Set an intention to really become aware of how you feel after you've engaged in different activities. Solitude and awareness help us make better choices for ourselves.

"Enlightenment is not about imagining figures of light but of making the darkness conscious."

Purpose brings joy

"Our purpose is hidden in our joy, our inspiration, our excitement. As we act on what shows up in our life our purpose shows up."

-- James King

For many of us, our joy is truly activated when we get a bigger picture of who we are and why we are here.

Most of us need to enlarge our self-concept. We may see ourselves as a bag of bones but, in truth, we are eternal, multi-faceted and multi-dimensional spiritual beings having a human experience. Its time to think of ourselves as much larger and grander than just a physical and emotional being confined in a body.

"There is no more important step you can take than to define your life's purpose. It develops your sense of belonging to our universe."

-- Arnold Patent

Know yourself through journaling

"The blank page gives us the right to dream."

-- Baston Bachelard

Journaling takes us on adventures of self-discovery that explore two different directions:

- DEEPER into the realms of the subconscious where we can clean house of personal problems, pains, patterns, and reactions; and,

- HIGHER into the realms of our potential, where we can connect with intuition and higher guidance and uncover our essence and purpose.

"Life is a narrative that you have a hand in writing."

-- Henriette Anne Klauser

"I want you to get excited about who you are, what you are, what you have, and what can still be for you. I want to inspire you to see that you can go far beyond where you are right now."

-- Virginia Satir

Connect with the life force

"The spirit down here in man and the spirit up there in the sun, in reality are only one spirit, and there is no other one."

-- The Upanishads

We regard our lives as made up of an infinite number of separate bits and pieces. That is how our senses perceive our universe.

But science has now affirmed what the sages always knew. The life force is the foundation of all, unseen and untouched though it may be. It flows through everyone and everything. It is impossible to exist separate and apart from the source of all creation.

"Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world.
The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same.
Every wonderful sight will vanish; every sweet word will fade,
But do not be disheartened,
The source they come from is eternal, growing,
Branching out, giving new life and new joy.
Why do you weep?
The source is within you
And this whole world is springing up from it."

-- Jelaluddin Rumi

Why laugh?

Laughter nourishes the soul and triggers joy. It's a natural stress reliever. It stimulates the immune system and increases oxygen, stamina and our breathing capacity. Medical literature is full of reasons to laugh for the health of it.

Don't rely upon your funny friends, favorite sit-com or jokes to tickle your funny bone -- just laugh for the joy of it!

"Laughter is like the human body wagging its tail."

-- Anne Wilson Schaef

Andrew Schneider describes violence as an issue of power. People become violent when they feel powerless. Violence is used as an inappropriate way of attempting to re-establish one's own sense of power over whatever or whomever is perceived as a threat.

The antidote to violence in ourselves and in society is empowerment. We need to empower people to live out their best without fear. When people feel strong and able within themselves, they do not see themselves as potential victims. They do not have to struggle against others in order to feel secure. The curriculum for empowerment is learning and loving.

"Never use violence of any kind. Never threaten violence in any way. Never even think violent thoughts. Never argue because it attacks anothers opinion. Never criticize because it attacks anothers ego. And your success is guaranteed."

-- Mohandas Gandhi

What Are You Fighting

What are you fighting?

Resistance always brings pain. Examine your struggle. What does your personality want from the situation? What does your soul want? What can you learn from this?

Always strive to mend separation and achieve unity. Always choose love over fear. If you can embrace whatever you are struggling against, the struggle will disappear.

"What you resist persists. And only what you look at, and own, can disappear. You make it disappear by simply changing your mind about it."

-- Neale Donald Walsch
